Ckrets Nyelle

Earth Fairy, Guardian of Secrets

Ckrets Nyelle's Lore

There is a place hidden between the roots of ancient trees, somewhere beyond the paths most people know. You won't find it on a map. You won't reach it by following a sign. In fact, those who go looking for it rarely find it at all. The Enchanted Hollow has a peculiar habit of appearing only when it decides someone needs it.Perhaps you'll notice a trail of glowing mushrooms that wasn't there a moment ago. Perhaps a tiny light will flicker between the trees and, against your better judgment, you'll follow it. Or perhaps you'll simply wander too far from the path and suddenly realize the forest around you has become strangely quiet. That's usually how the Lost Travelers arrive. They step between the trees expecting to find their way home and instead discover a little Hollow glowing beneath the forest canopy. There are enormous mushrooms tucked between moss-covered roots, fireflies drifting through the air like tiny stars, flowers that bloom beneath moonlight, and hundreds of little lights hanging from branches that no one remembers putting there.Every now and then, something small and fluffy darts between the mushrooms. You'll probably assume you imagined it, but you didn't.And somewhere among all of it is an earth fairy named Ckrets Nyelle. She's usually easy enough to spot. Long waves of warm brown hair tumble down her back, often decorated with little vines and leaves gathered from the Hollow. Soft green eyes carry the same faint magic that glows through the forest around her, and delicate fairy wings shimmer behind her as she moves between the trees. She dresses in the colors of the forest, leafy greens, soft earth tones, touches of moss and gold, as though the Hollow itself had decided to dress her.At first glance, Ckrets looks exactly like the sort of fairy you would expect to find guarding an ancient enchanted forest: gentle, graceful, mysterious, and perhaps possessing centuries of forgotten wisdom. Then she opens her mouth. The illusion usually lasts about thirty seconds.Beneath the fairy wings and soft voice is a wonderfully unpredictable little creature with a tendency to swear when startled, laugh far too loudly, follow questionable ideas simply because "but what if it works?", and say things that occasionally make even the ancient forest seem to fall silent. Still, there is something undeniably warm about her.Plants seem to lean toward her when she passes. Fireflies gather around her wings. Mushrooms occasionally sprout wherever she has spent too long sitting, something she finds considerably less charming than everyone else does. And despite all her chaos, there is a gentleness in the way she welcomes anyone the Hollow sends her way. Because Ckrets Nyelle is the Guardian of Secrets and Keeper of the Enchanted Hollow.Which sounds very dignified.Ckrets would appreciate it if we left it at that. Unfortunately, anyone who has spent more than five minutes in the Hollow knows better.Ckrets was chosen by the forest to protect the whispers entrusted to it. Every secret spoken beneath its trees becomes part of the Hollow's magic. Some settle into flowers. Others flicker among the fireflies. The oldest secrets sink deep into the roots of the ancient trees, where they remain protected from anyone who might seek to misuse them. Ckrets watches over them all.She tends the mushrooms, listens to the whispers carried through the leaves, guides Lost Travelers through the forest, and performs all of the other mysterious duties expected of an ancient fairy Guardian. She also swears at inanimate objects. Frequently. No one said guardianship required dignity. And Ckrets isn't the only strange creature who calls the Hollow home.Long ago, or perhaps not very long ago at all since time behaves strangely beneath enchanted tree, Ckrets began noticing something following her. At first, it was little things.
A rustling beneath the mushrooms. A flash of tiny ears disappearing behind a tree root. Small objects mysteriously vanishing from exactly where Ckrets swore she had left them.
Then one evening, while Ckrets sat beneath an ancient tree listening carefully to the whispers carried through its leaves, the creature finally emerged.Small, fluffy, and unlike anything she had seen before, it crept from beneath a cluster of mushrooms with curious eyes, tiny horns, an expressive tail, and little traces of the Hollow growing among its fur. Moss clung to its back. Tiny leaves tangled around its ears. Even the occasional mushroom seemed perfectly content to sprout wherever it pleased. Ckrets had absolutely no idea what it was. Naturally, this did not stop her from deciding it was a Hollowling. The Hollowling followed her everywhere. When Ckrets tended the mushrooms, it dug through them. When she organized something, it moved it. When she searched for something, there was an alarming chance the Hollowling already had it. And whenever Ckrets settled beneath the trees to listen to particularly quiet secrets, the creature chose that exact moment to investigate something it absolutely should not have been touching. One evening, after the little creature interrupted her for what had to be the tenth time, Ckrets sighed, "Hush, kin. I'm trying to listen."The Hollowling froze. Its ears perked. Ckrets stared at it. It stared back."Hushkin?"Its tail immediately began to wag. Ckrets narrowed her eyes."Oh no. You like that, don't you?"And that was that. From that day forward, the strange little Hollowling became known as Hushkin. Whether Ckrets adopted Hushkin or Hushkin adopted Ckrets remains a subject of debate among the Secret Keepers. Hushkin certainly seems to believe the latter.Strangely, Hushkin possesses an unusual connection to the Hollow's secrets. She seems able to sense when someone carries something close to their heart. She never reveals what she senses, and perhaps she doesn't understand the secrets at all, but Lost Travelers carrying particularly heavy whispers often find a curious little Hollowling sitting beside them before they've spoken a single word.Sometimes Hushkin simply stays. Sometimes she brings them a leaf. Sometimes she brings them a mushroom. Sometimes she brings them an object that very clearly belongs to someone else.Ckrets is working on that last one.Still, there is a reason the Hollow chose Ckrets. She understands that not every secret is some terrible truth whispered beneath a full moon. Some secrets are fears. Some are dreams. Some are things you've never been brave enough to say aloud. Some begin with, "Okay, don't judge me..." And some probably should have remained thoughts.Ckrets has heard all of them. Hushkin has probably heard them too. Fortunately, she can't talk. Ckrets considers this one of the Hollow's better design choices.Ckrets doesn't ask Lost Travelers to explain why they came. The Hollow brought them there for a reason, and that's usually good enough for her. Some leave once they've found whatever they needed. But others stay. Those who begin exploring the strange paths surrounding the Hollow become known as the Hollow Wanderers. Wanderers learn quickly that the Enchanted Hollow isn't quite as peaceful as it first appears. The mushrooms occasionally move. Hushkin is frequently responsible. Objects disappear. Also Hushkin. The forest has an alarming sense of humor. That one actually might be the forest.Ckrets has absolutely yelled at a tree before. And there is an unspoken understanding among the Wanderers that when their Guardian says, "Wait, I have an idea," someone should probably intervene. They rarely do. Hushkin usually encourages her. This has historically been a mistake. But between the questionable decisions and bursts of chaos, something wonderful happens. The Hollow begins to feel like home.Wanderers gather beneath the glowing trees. They share stories. They laugh too loudly. They embark on adventures that were supposed to be relaxing and somehow become disasters. Hushkin wanders between them, inspecting pockets, demanding snacks, curling up beside anyone who needs company, and occasionally fleeing the scene with something she absolutely was not given permission to take. And little by little, the Wanderers begin leaving their own whispers among the leaves. Those who come to understand the most important rule of the Hollow may eventually become something more.Secret Keepers.A Secret Keeper understands that anything entrusted to the Hollow deserves to be protected. Not judged. Not mocked. Not carried beyond its trees. Protected. They help Ckrets welcome new Lost Travelers, guide Hollow Wanderers who have strayed a little too far, and preserve the strange little sanctuary that has grown beneath the forest canopy. They have also become remarkably skilled at retrieving stolen belongings from Hushkin. Together, the Secret Keepers, their chaotic Guardian, and one suspiciously innocent Hollowling have turned the Enchanted Hollow into something the forest never quite intended. It is still ancient. Still magical. Still filled with secrets. It's just considerably louder now. Some evenings are spent quietly beneath the mushrooms while fireflies drift overhead and Hushkin sleeps curled beneath Ckrets' wings.Other evenings involve screaming, terrible decisions, excessive swearing, something crashing in the distance, and Ckrets insisting that whatever just happened was absolutely under control. It was not. Hushkin was involved. But perhaps that is the real magic of the Hollow.
You don't have to arrive polished. You don't have to have everything figured out. You don't even have to know why you're here.
You may arrive as a Lost Traveler. You may become a Hollow Wanderer. And one day, you may find that somewhere between the whispered secrets, glowing mushrooms, ridiculous adventures, a mischievous Hollowling, and an earth fairy who probably should not be trusted with a plan...you became a Secret Keeper. Because the Enchanted Hollow was never meant to be a place where you had to behave perfectly. It was meant to be a place where you could simply belong. So if you ever find yourself wandering beneath unfamiliar trees and notice a trail of glowing mushrooms appearing before you...follow them. There's probably a reason the Hollow found you.And if something small and fluffy is watching you from between the mushrooms? That's Hushkin. Keep an eye on your belongings. And if you hear someone swearing somewhere in the distance? Don't worry. That's just the Guardian.Welcome to the Enchanted Hollow.Tell the Hollow everything. After all...The Hollow remembers everything. πŸŒΏπŸ„
